NEWS: Round Table for Stakeholders, Italy June 2025

As part of the 4PETHABECO project and with the aim of engaging stakeholders, the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Animal Sciences at the University of Udine, as the Lead Partner of the project, organized a Round Table in collaboration with the Carnia Mountain Community. The event was titled:
“Contributing to Local and Transnational Stakeholder Engagement to Develop Shared Strategies for Coexistence between Wildlife, Large Carnivores, and Human Activities.”

The roundtable took place on June 10th at the Carnia Mountain Community headquarters in Tolmezzo (UD), in a hybrid format.

The project includes pilot actions, shared digital tools, strategic plans, and awareness and training activities, with a strong focus on transnational cooperation and active involvement of all local and regional actors.

During the event, the objectives and planned activities of the project were presented, along with the engagement methods we hope will actively involve stakeholders. This was followed by an lively open discussion among participants, both in person and remotely. Several regional actors were involved in the conversation: Regional Forestry Service, Biodiversity Service, FVG Region, Hunting and Fisheries Service, FVG Region, Regional Hunting Districs, Journalist, LAV – Anti-vivisetion league, Legambiente – environmental association, Mycological center FVG, CAI – Italian Alpine Club, Large Carnivore section, Land Reclamation consortium, General Confederation of Italian Agriculture FVG, Zoologists, Representatives of Secondary schools, Mountain Communities, Prealpi Giulie Regional Park.

Project Partners also participated, presenting their activities and contributing to the discussion.

We sincerely thank all participants for their presence and valuable contributions. The project’s goal is to share needs, experiences, and proposals to strengthen existing collaborations, initiate new ones, and build synergies with ongoing initiatives in the territory—promoting constructive dialogue and concrete cooperation.
